When most people think of California, usually the first things that comes to mind are sunny days with no chance of rain, palm trees decorating the streets, and beaches around every corner. Well....if the marketing guys ever made it lovely Northern California, land of weather that can't make up it's mind, it'd be a totally different story.
It was less than 6 hours since we'd got back to the hotel to rest up and we found ourselves back at the circuit for the main event. Sunday played host to KD European Drift DNY Racing 2010, throwing 40+ drivers from 5 nations into the mix to battle it out for the title and the €6850 prize fund.
Over the winter months I am going to share photo highlights of the drift year. Usually when I am writing my reports you don’t always get to see my best photos from the day. I tend to write my report first while the information is fresh in my head, and then pick photos that split the writing up nicely.
There's something about drifting after dark that feels frantic, chaotic even. Although we had seen 5/6 car drift trains throughout the day at Lousada, Portugal, as the first night drift session gets underway we still weren't prepared for the sensory overload that ensued...
